Even with the shutdowns across much of the country, lots of things are going on in the Affordable Street Rods world!

With the worldwide shutdowns we haven’t been anywhere in the last month, much like most of you. As restrictions are lifting here in Kansas we have had some folks come to us though! In fact in Marion County where we are, restrictions have been lifted. We’ve seen a steady increase in people stopping in to buy items, while phone and internet orders are going up as well. Our new employee (how long before he’s not new anymore?) Travis has organized a fun run on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend for the last few years, this year his run came to Peabody.

Since we were still under restrictions on the size of the groups that we could have, Travis called it ‘The Secret Run’ and only invited a handful of friends. The hope was to keep the crowd size to a manageable level. They started in Gypsum, KS and drove the backroads through a few small towns over a 110 mile route and ending up here for lunch. Rex and Annette provided some hot dogs, pasta salad, cupcakes and waters, Travis’ mom & aunt provided some cinnamon rolls and coffee at the starting point, pies and baked beans here at the shop at the end and a bunch of other folks brought chips and cookies.

Everyone loved the run and thanked us and Travis repeatedly, we think that everyone was ready to get out and enjoy their cars with some other car folks. We were happy to have some people come out and enjoy the beautiful weather and scenic roads and of course tour the showroom and warehouse.

The next show on our schedule now is the NSRA 36th Annual Rocky Mountain Street Rod Nationals in Pueblo, CO June 26 – 28, 2020 at the Colorado State Fairgrounds. As of the writing of this article we believe that show is going to happen and we are going to be there! You can get more info on the event straight from the NSRA here.

The following weekend is Independence Day Weekend and we plan to be in Des Moines, IA for the GoodGuys 29th Annual Heartland Nationals. All info for that show is on the Goodguys site here.

The weekend after that is July 10-12th and our plan is to be in Columbus, OH for the GoodGuys 23rd Annual PPG Goodguys Nationals. All info for that show is on the Goodguys site here

IF Columbus gets canceled, we will instead be in Oklahoma City, OK for the NSRA 37th Annual Southwest Street Rod Nationals, info is available here. We'll make sure to update on our site and social media if that change happens.

Travis had planned on attending and shooting photos/video the Hot Rod Dirt Drags in Colorado, the first week of June, but that has been canceled. Another June show on his schedule is the Custom Car Revival in Indianapolis, IN but it has been rescheduled for August 27-29, this is a MUST attend for people who are into the classic stylings of traditional customs.

As we get more info on shows we’ll keep our event schedule updated on our site here.
