Well, we finally got to go to a couple of shows! Early this month Rex, Annette and Moose went up to Des Moines, IA to the Goodguys show. This was our first event in months,  and overall, the Des Moines show was good! The car count was strong considering all that’s going on in the world and we felt that the folks that were in attendance were happy to be there and grateful for the opportunity to see friends and enjoy a social gathering. The next weekend we were off to Oklahoma City for the NSRA show, normally we would be going to Columbus for the GG show but since it was canceled and pre-coronoa the NSRA OKC show had been changed from April to July, it all just kind of worked out for us.

Unfortunately, the weather was not as cooperative for this event as we’d hoped. Forecasts were for 106 highs for Saturday and rain was forecasted for Friday and Saturday, combine that with the coronavirus, none of that helped the event. Due to unpredictable weather at a couple of events we always vend inside whenever possible so we had the booth set up in the AC so people at the show could come in and shop in comfort and they could be inside shopping during the thunderstorms. We got to see a lot of old friends and make some new ones too!

Travis went out to Utah to an event that first weekend of July, to celebrate Independence Day at Flaming Gorge Resort with some friends. There was river rafting, a hot rod cruise through the mountains dropping and climbing about 1300 feet multiple times, great views, great cookouts and a fun car show on Saturday for Independence Day.

As this is being written we are planning on leaving Sunday morning for Louisville, KY for the NSRA Nationals on August 6-9th. With the Governor of KY setting new mandates for social distancing, crowd size requirements and restaurant capacity levels, along with social unrest in downtown Louisville we are going to make the go/no go call for this show this evening Friday 31st at 5pm. With 6 of us going, two trucks, two trailers and a 10 hour drive we have to take in to account that the Mayor said that they can impose further restrictions at a moment’s notice and could cancel the event after we’ve already gotten there and gotten set up. We will make sure to let everyone know via our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts what our plans are as soon as we make the announcement.

A couple more shows have been canceled in recent days, we are trying to keep our schedule updated as to what is still on and what is canceled, you can find our schedule on our website here: ASR Show Schedule.
